What changed for 2026

Texas redrew its congressional map in 2025. For District 2 that means:

  • 152 precincts → 164 (+12)
  • 2 counties → 2 — the county organizations this district works with.

Still here, but a different share:

  • Harris County — 95 precincts → 103 (+8)
  • Montgomery County — 57 precincts → 61 (+4)

A county can stay in the district while the number of its precincts here changes substantially — which a simple list of counties would not show.

Most precincts kept their exact 2024 boundaries even where the district changed — the State House, Senate and Board of Education maps were not redrawn, so this is the congressional redraw rather than counties renumbering precincts. How this was measured.
